Heather and her husband Erik relocated to Greenville in 2013. The Esches joined the Village Church Seed Group early in 2014 and served on the initial Leadership Council. Heather, who has worked her entire career in non-profit (currently for The United Way), is an Excel whiz and grant-writer, but her passion is serving others. She describes herself as an aspiring social justice super hero who loves tacos and people. She and Erik frequently host of all sorts of Village Church gatherings, including our annual chili-cookoff. Heather is presently our Treasurer.
TJ is married to Ginger, and they have four children: Bauer, Cash, Story, and Sailor. The Friesens have been part of Village Church since the summer of 2015. TJ, a Messiah College grad, is passionate about telling stories and encouraging generosity through the use of video in his work with Community Media, his own production company. TJ and Ginger open their home regularly for lakefront baptismal services and general hospitality, while also serving in our children's ministry. TJ presently advises in areas of finance, giving and advancement.
David was born in York, SC, 62 years ago, and has lived in Greenville for the past 36 years. He is a Clemson grad, a civil engineer and owns an engineering consulting firm. He has served as both deacon and elder in Presbyterian churches (PCA) . David and his wife, Sharon, have six grown children and seven grandchildren. The Halls serve in our children's and prayer ministries. David presently advises in areas of physical plant and logistics.
Grady first moved to Greenville to attend Furman University, where he graduated in 2003 with a degree in economics. After Furman, Grady worked at Erwin-Penland Advertising. In 2006 he married a Greenville native, Sarah, and in 2007 they moved to Royal Oak, Maryland, where Grady directed Trinity Forum Academy, a Christian leadership program. In 2014, the Powells moved back to Greenville with three children in tow - Liam, Parks, and Liza - and Grady started Openfields, a leadership and social impact consulting firm. Grady presently advises in the area of organizational strategy, while also assisting in ministry to newcomers.
Jill is a mother of four and holds a degree in Christian Formation and Ministry from Wheaton College. She rigorously practices the Christian disciplines of solitude, prayer, laundry and dishes in reverse order and descending frequency. Married to Alec (Village Church's Worship Director) for more than a decade, Jill has lived in Chicago, Dallas, Charlottesville VA, Quantico VA, Toms River NJ, Newport RI, and Beaufort SC. She is eminently grateful to the Lord, who has far better plans for us than we can ask or imagine, to have made her way to Greenville and Village Church. Jill presently advises on liturgical practice and worship arts. She directs our Holy Week services and is a liaison to the wider Anglican Communion.
