Epiphany

The season immediately following Christmas is focused on the revelation of Christ the King to the world. Epiphany begins on January 6th with the story of the Magi, the first and wisest Gentiles, who visited the infant Messiah. We then remember and celebrate Christ’s baptism in the Jordan, his first miracle at Cana, the calling of his disciples, and Mary’s purification visit to the Temple where Jesus was presented. Epiphany ends with his Transfiguration to Peter, James and John on the mountain. Epiphany is considered an ordinary time, with the color green. Green symbolizes new life.

Jesus, First & Always

We’re a congregation speaking to the challenges of a 21st century world while worshipping in the ancient, sacramental tradition. We rely upon centuries-old rhythms and emphases, with the Table of thanksgiving as our central act of worship. We welcome everyone to the Table to be blessed and all baptized believers to receive, knowing that we all come by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

We’d Love to Meet You

Turn onto Sizemore St. from Old Buncombe Rd. where guest parking is available just behind the church building, along with approximately 25 spaces. You can park along Sizemore or Buff St. or in our overflow parking across Old Buncombe at Blackstone's Garage. Be sure to stop by our welcome table just inside the main entrance where you can find more information and a welcome packet.

Let the Children Come

Village Church has a lot of kids! Well-staffed nurseries are available for infants and toddlers in our Children’s Wing along with a cozy parents’ room for nursing moms and grumpy littles. Age-appropriate classes provide a meaningful, fun lesson for PreK-5th graders. Our worship services are always inclusive of children, particularly during Communion. It’s important for their spiritual nurture and for our vitality as a church. It's a blessing!
