The Rev. Seth Cain
In July of 2014, the Cains moved to the west side of Greenville to plant Village Church Anglican. Seth & Ashley met as undergraduates at Emmanuel College and married in ‘99. Seth graduated from Wheaton College Graduate School in '04 and has been in local church ministry ever since, revitalizing and planting churches (while occasionally moonlighting as a graphic /web designer). Having grown up in the Shenandoah Valley of VA and on the coast of Northeast FL, Seth loves all things outdoors, both land and sea. Ashley is a Columbia, SC native, who oversees the altar guild at Village Church. She is an educator, wise counselor and avid runner. She loves experimenting with new recipes (and Seth loves eating them). They have two children, Silas and Augustine.

The Revs. Michael & Hannah King
Michael and Hannah moved from the DC area in June of 2019 to share the role of Associate Rector at Village Church. They met as undergraduate musicians at Westminster Choir College in New Jersey, where Michael grew up. In 2010 the North and the South came together for Michael and Hannah's wedding in Hannah’s hometown of Greenville. From there, the two attended seminary together and discerned a call to ordination in the Anglican tradition. In their home, you will find a safe place to explore your questions about faith and life; music and books of every genre; and lots of coffee. They love ministering as a team both in the parish and in the home, where their toddler sons Isaiah and David keep them very busy.
Parish Life Coordinator
Heather and her husband, Erik, relocated to Greenville in 2013 from Charlotte. The Esches have been with Village Church since Day 1, joining the "Seed Group" early in 2014. They both served on the initial Leadership Council, as well. Heather, who has worked her entire career in non-profit, is an Excel whiz and grant-writer, but her passion is serving others. She describes herself as an aspiring social justice super hero who loves tacos and people. She and Erik frequently host of all sorts of Village Church gatherings, including our annual chili-cookoff. Heather served on the Village Church vestry in 2017 and came on as Parish Life Coordinator in 2018. She also serves as our Treasurer. Looking to connect at Village? Sharon is wife to David, mother to six grown children, and grandmother of seven. She is a recently retired school teacher and school administrator of several Greenville County Schools. She holds an elementary education degree and a school administration degree from Furman University. Her experience in education includes elementary, middle, and high school as well as teaching adults. For fun, she takes art classes, plays the piano, rides bikes, eats delicious food, drinks good coffee, and sits on the porch. Her desire is to know and communicate the steadfast love of the Lord in word and deed.
Jason & Joanna Bursch
Jason and Joanna have been involved in music since they can remember. Both of them grew up involved in the worship at their churches. A mutual love for music is one of things that brought them together in 2001. They moved from the beautiful, cold north of Minnesota to the Greenville area in 2003 and have loved being South Carolinians. The Bursches have 3 children and their family started attending Village in the fall of 2017. They began heading up the worship ministry in the late summer of 2018 and have been so grateful to have a community so rich in joy and grace.
Youth Ministry / Village Wrench
Jessica is a smiley mountain soul, enthusiastic people person, and get-things-done gal. A Charleston native, she holds a BA from Roanoke College in Literary Studies and earned her Master's in Teaching in New Zealand in 2016. She moved to Greenville in 2017 to teach high school English and soon found a church home at Village, especially helping with youth gatherings. She stepped in as Village Wrench Director in the fall of 2018 and began heading up youth ministry at the start of 2019. She is passionate about developing community and making others feel known and loved -- particularly her three younger siblings, wide spread of friends, and sheepadoodle, Jack. Adventures are her favorite form of fun, especially backpacking, cycling, and dirtbag traveling; she also enjoys reading, endless cups of tea, and good food.
Assistant Children’s Director / Pre-K Coordinator
Emily grew up in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia. She migrated further south to attend Clemson University where she met her husband, Ben. Ben and Emily have been a part of Village Church since 2016. They live in West Greenville and love being a part of the diverse neighborhood community. Emily enjoys fellowship with family and friends. Especially time outdoors with Ben and their daughter, Quinn. Emily has a heart for loving and serving our children and witnessing their faith blossom through the gospel.

Jacob is involved in altar guild, the music ministry and is currently pursuing his MDiv.
Village Church Assistant
Hallie helps with random projects around Village Church. A book hoarder and visual artist, she loves to keep people organized. She likes making sure details are in order, and often leaves a trail of glitter. But mostly, she just loves to help people get things done. She and her artist husband, Nathan, have been a part of Village Church since 2015, just after we launched. They love to travel. And collect more books.
